It’s all about the food!
We are delighted to welcome James Thomas to the Dormy Care team as our new Executive Chef. James will be responsible for supporting all the homes and ensuring we offer a fine dining experience to our residents and their visitors.
We asked James to share with us a bit about his work history and what he hopes to bring to the team;
“I started reading Biochemistry at the university of London and obtained an honours degree, since then I have been working in catering for more than thirty years. I have never had a day when there have not been challenges, learning experiences and the privilege of working with so many talented chefs. I have experienced fine dining restaurants, bistros, private catering for estates and for the last four years I have been supporting care homes throughout the UK.
It is my intention to use that experience, knowledge and drive to make the dining experience at all of the Dormy Care Communities the finest in the industry. Our homes are located in beautiful places and we have access to some of the finest local produce in the country, this we will utilise to the fullest extent. Menus will be created with residents input to suit all tastes and will be varied and exciting. I am looking forward to working with the new chefs and creating some wonderful dishes that residents, families and friends will enjoy! Every day meal times should be a wonderful experience and I can not wait for us to showcase what we can do”
Foxhunters Care Community will be opening in November 2018 and James will be creating a range of menus – fine dining, lighter bites and coffer shop options, that really will be a focus of every day in our home. Family and friends are encouraged to visit and enjoy what is on offer and there is also a private dining facility for those extra special occasions.
