Banksy Artwork Exhibited at Foxhunters
Date of news/blog: 26th June 2019
Artwork by one of the world’s most controversial and celebrated graffiti street artists was on show at Foxhunters Care Community in Llanfoist.
The Banksy print was exhibited at the £12 million state-of-art care home as part of the Abergavenny Arts Festival to be held later this month (June 29th-30th).
The identity of Banksy remains unknown. Globally renowned for his mystery, the graffiti artist has travelled all over the world with his work – and this week it arrived in Foxhunters.
The authenticated Banksy print has been doing the rounds at local Abergavenny residences as part of the Abergavenny Arts Festival Banksy Print Auction to be held this weekend at the Angel Hotel, Abergavenny.
Returning for another year after its successful debut in 2018, the Abergavenny Arts Festival is facilitated by local group, Abergavenny Arts. The festival is a celebration of the arts, showcasing amateur and professional artists from the vibrant local arts scene, encouraging creativity in Abergavenny with workshops and activities.
Chairman of the Festival Mr. William P. Duggan talked to residents about Banksy’s most recent work in Port Talbot and Banksy’s Welsh connections.
Mr Duggan said there was a “delightful interaction from the Foxhunters Community, and new friends were made of the arts!”
