Pine Martin Grange helps resident set sail for the first time in 6 years

Date of news/blog: 14th August 2018

After a life on the sea, Pine Martin Grange resident John Newbury has been unable to set sail for the past six years.

Living with Parkinson’s Disease means that John – a retired Captain and Master Mariner – has been unable to pursue his passion for sailing.

Pine Martin Grange desperately wanted to help get him back on the water, so we linked up with Chesil Sailing who arranged to take John out sailing on one of their boats.

“Pine Martin took the time to understand Johns needs and were so keen to make a difference by arranging this for him,” said his wife Jane.

“It really was a dream come true to see John sailing again.”
