Care Assistants Days

Responsibilities of Care Assistant include:

Housekeeping Assistant

We are looking to expand the Housekeeping Team.

Job Description

  • To provide a comprehensive housekeeping service for all residents, employees and visitors to the care home.
  • To ensure that the interior of the establishment, furniture, fittings and fixtures are clean, tidy and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, in line with accepted best practice and within the financial plans agreed.
  • To actively participate within your role in a service that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.
  • Main Responsibilities:
    • To clean resident’s bedrooms, communal areas, corridors, visitor’s cloakrooms, private dining space, and all areas of the Home that are not the responsibility of the Catering department.
    • To clean floors, work surfaces, and related equipment manually and also by use of the equipment provided.
    • To be responsible for resident and the Home’s laundry, adhering to policies and procedures relevant to working in the Laundry. Ensuring that all daily, weekly and monthly records are kept as required.
    • To wear all appropriate PPE equipment for specific activities.
    • To ensure that proper standards of cleanliness are maintained.
    • To exercise due diligence and to ensure that standards of hygiene are strictly maintained.
    • To comply with requirements of cleaning schedules and ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly records are kept as required.
    • To ensure that adequate and safe storage of all housekeeping products and equipment.
    • To comply with regulations in respect of Health & Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures.
    • To promptly report all mechanical defects and hazards to the Head Housekeeper.
    • Support the implementation, orientation and induction of new employees.
    • Be responsible for developing own skills and knowledge.

The home has a capacity for 64 Ladies and Gentlemen and offers the very best care and service for older people. The successful candidate must be a qualified RGN or RMN and have the passion, drive and enthusiasm to assist in leading a team that will share the same values and principles. We are looking to hear from a RGN or RMN who preferably has previous experience of working with the older person in any environment and is looking for a new opportunity. Responsibilities of Registered Nurse include:

    • To provide the highest standards of person-centred care to the ladies and gentlemen living in the home.
    • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the ongoing care needs of the ladies and gentlemen.
    • To ensure that the highest standards of medication management are adhered to at all times and in accordance with legislation.
    • Make clinical recommendations
    • To assist and lead the team of staff and manage resources when required
    • To take a lead role in dealing with any emergencies
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals
    Requirements of Registered Nurse
    • You will be required to hold a current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) or RMN.
    • 2 Years’ experience in a care home setting would be preferable but not essential.
