Double success

Date of news/blog: 13th August 2026

Foxhunters is celebrating a double success after being named among the UK’s 100 best care homes and in the top 10 for best outside space.

We beat competition from almost 14,000 other homes to secure our place in the 2026 Lottie Awards, which recognise care homes that demonstrate exceptional standards of care, resident wellbeing, facilities, and family experience.

Organised by care home comparison platform Lottie, the annual awards evaluate thousands of care homes across the UK using a rigorous, data-led assessment process. Homes are judged against a range of factors including regulator ratings, resident and family reviews, facilities, activities, enquiry handling, and overall quality of care.

Foxhunters was recognised not only for its outstanding overall performance but also for its exceptional outdoor environment. Lottie’s Best in Outdoor Space category celebrates homes with beautifully designed, accessible gardens and green spaces that enrich residents’ quality of life throughout the year.

The recognition highlights Foxhunters’ commitment to creating a vibrant and enriching environment where residents can enjoy both exceptional care and meaningful everyday experiences. Set against the backdrop of the Welsh hills, the home’s landscaped grounds provide opportunities for relaxation, social interaction, gardening and connecting with nature.

Helen Davies-Parsons, Chief Executive of Dormy Care Communities, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Foxhunters has been recognised in the Lottie awards.

“These awards reflect the passion, dedication and professionalism of our entire team, who work tirelessly every day to provide outstanding care and create memorable experiences for the ladies and gentlemen at the home and their families.

“Our beautiful outdoor spaces are a vital part of life at Foxhunters, supporting wellbeing, independence and social connection. We are incredibly proud to see this recognised on a national stage.”

The achievement further strengthens Foxhunters’ reputation as one of Wales’ leading care homes and comes on the back of the home being rated as ‘excellent’ across all areas in a report compiled by the Care Inspectorate Wales. It was also named in the top 100 of the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Guide for the seventh consecutive year.
