A great Chef
Date of news/blog: 18th February 2026Our ladies and gentlemen at Pine Martin Grange know only too well what a great Chef Giuliano Orosz is, with his cakes being a particular favourite, and now even more people are aware after he was recognised in the Excellence in Hospitality category in the recent Dormy awards.
Giuliano received a silver award for the work he does in the kitchen at Pine Martin Grange, ensuring the ladies and gentlemen receive nutritious restaurant quality food.
With over 13 years’ experience (five of these as Second Chef at PMG), Giuliano is experience in cooking a wide range of different cuisines, with a particular passion for Italian food influenced by his Italian father.
Giuliano’s mum is Hungarian, but he grew up in Romania where he originally worked as an engineer building cars.
But his love of cooking won the day and he swapped the car manufacturing plant for the kitchen and we’re all happy he did!
“I enjoyed working in restaurant kitchens, but the hours are very anti-social and one of the best things about working in a care home like Pine Martin Grange is that the hours are more family friendly for chefs but importantly the food we do is still of restaurant quality,” he explains.
“As well as Italian food, I enjoy cooking Asian food and I have grown to love English food too.
“The menu at Pine Martin Grange is very varied so we can offer a wide range of different cuisines which the ladies and gentlemen like.”
Giuliano says it was a very pleasant surprise when he discovered he had won a Dormy award.
“It was a bit overwhelming knowing that people had recognised me for going the extra mile,” he adds.
“It was a real honour.”
