Welcoming Foxhunters Care Community…

We are delighted to announce our flagship home in Abergavenny has a name!
‘Foxhunters Care Community’ will be our first home to open in late 2018.
The story behind our name came from a horse named Foxhunter ridden by Harry Llewellyn (who lived local to Llanfoist) in the 1952 Olympic Games. He won a gold medal in the team event and became somewhat of a national treasure. They were also the only horse and rider to win the King George V Gold Cup three times. The horse lived out his years near Llanfoist and his ashes are buried at the bottom of the Blorenge mountain where there is a plaque marking the spot. When Sir Harry died in 1999, his ashes were scattered around the plaque too. A car park at the bottom of the Blorenge was then named after Foxhunter.
Dormy Care are proud to be able to continue the name and are looking forward to developing further links within the local community.
