Foxhunters welcomes school children to honour our military heroes

Date of news/blog: 26th November 2019

Last week we hosted a remembrance service here at Foxhunters in honour of those who so heroically served our country, with local schoolchildren joining our residents in paying tribute to our war heroes.

We were also delighted to receive a remembrance stone to commemorate our troops, donated by local engineering firm Alun Griffiths LTD. Thank you so much!

The stone is now in our garden and was the central point for the service. We decorated it with poppies and it is the perfect place to remember the sacrifice so many people have made for our country.

Rev Chris Walters led the day and we were delighted to welcome year 6 children from Llanfoist Fawr Primary School, along with head teacher, Mr Stewart Davies.

Helen Davies-Parsons, CEO of Foxhunters, said: “It was an honour to hold the remembrance service and so wonderful to welcome the children to our home. At Foxhunters, we feel it’s so important to engage with everyone in the local community – from young to old – and it was great that the children could join our residents in remembering events that many of them lived through during the Second World War.”

Thanks to everyone who played a part, it was such a special day for everyone at Foxhunters.
