We are currently seeking volunteers to join our award winning team, assisting with activities internally and externally throughout the Home.
- To assist in the smooth running of the scheduled activities throughout the day, ensuring all residents enjoy themselves and are able to actively participate as they wish to do so.
- To attend visits and trips out with residents on a regular basis.
- Ensuring the highest levels of care and understanding are provided to residents at all times

Maintenance Assistant
As a Maintenance Assistant at Dormy Care Communities you’ll help to create the safe and attractive surroundings that enable us to give our residents the quality care and support they deserve. It’s important that our homes give the right first impression and that every area is always well-maintained. The role of Maintenance Assistant offers plenty of variety as you’ll undertake a range of tasks to make sure our building and grounds are at their best all day, every day.
Part-time Role
- To provide routine maintenance services and minor repair work within our care home.
- You will agree priorities with the Maintenance Manager and carry out regular tests on equipment such as fire alarms, extinguishers, security doors, lighting, wheelchairs, window restrictors, reclining chairs and nursing beds.
- Duties will be varied including painting, fitting shelves and picture hooks, changing light bulbs and helping to move furniture.
- You will have a key eye for detail and high standards to match.
- Daily checking of the maintenance book for matters requiring attention and providing a responsive approach to the various maintenance needs of the home.
- The post also involves driving the company minibus on occasions and keeping the grounds tidy.
- Good general knowledge of building or good DIY experience.
- Ability to work without immediate supervision, staying calm under pressure and with a great eye for details.
- Excellent communications skills and enjoy getting to know our residents and being friendly, kind, honest and reassuring.
